ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Referral consisting of DHR 1870 and current social summary. Serves male and female children and young adult’s ages 10-21 years of age.
SUMMARY OF SERVICES: Brantwood’s program currently provides care and supervision for up to 30 boys and girls. Each child is given medical and dental care; enrolled in either academic or vocational programs in local schools, counseled by professionals, and encouraged to maintain family contact when appropriate. Provides and independent living program to prepare older youth (ages 16-21) for living independently.
Brantwood offers respite care services to allow children living with foster families an opportunity to spend several days away from home each month.
Brantwood’s transitional living program provides off-campus services to teens that allow older adolescents the freedom to live on their own while still under the watchcare of Brantwood. The program accepts male and female older adolescent youth as well as pregnant teen and teens with children. Brantwood requires regular school attendance and for the teen to maintain employment.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Patients admitted to the adolescent unit usually range from 12 through 18 years of age. Inpatient treatment is recommended for young people who are experiencing personality, behavioral or psychological difficulties.
SUMMARY OF SERVICES: Services include specialized treatment of adolescents, adults, geriatrics and eating disorder patients. The units are designed as therapeutic environments or communities. The Center for Mental Health is a physically part of a full-service, acute-care hospital allowing for immediate access to a wide range of medical support programs. A patient’s treatment my include individual and group therapy and educational programs. In addition, there is an extensive activities therapy program including art, recreation, music, horticulture and relaxation. The adolescent program is located with the AMI Brookwood Medical Center complex.

SUMMARY OF SERVICES: The Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center is a non-profit, tax-exempt agency established to provide a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach is dealing with child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse cases.
Services include multi-disciplinary team investigations; counseling; forensic evaluations; preparation of victims and their families for the criminal justice process; advocacy for swift prosecution for cases that enter the judicial system; support referral services to child victims and their families that includes therapy, support groups , and court preparation; multi-disciplinary training in all areas of child abuse to professionals from participating agencies; child abuse workshops; training materials; and information to professionals and non-professionals within the community; and a Speaker’s Bureau to address the problems associated with child abuse. adoptive home recruitment services and contract with DHR for comprehensive post-adoption services.
